Biography
As of 2018 I'm your Advocacy Director! I've been meeting a lot of new people in the club and around our town with my new position. I'm keeping ya'll updated with those meetings. I'm also excited to be on the board of our Collin Classic Bike Rally along with several of our PBA members. This is my first time to serve on the board of a bike rally and it's something I've wanted to do in all my years of volunteering with races and rallies. I'll be a SAG Wagon this year and helping the riders get to the finish line. I started riding for triathlons about 5 years ago, so my riding was always for training purposes. I've been with PBA for 3 years now. I joined PBA back before my first and only half Ironman because I needed more riding time. The race was in April and training for it all winter was difficult on the bike. My team would not ride in below 50 degree weather! (Now I ride all winter long, sometimes in freezing temps.) I noticed PBA always had rides going all week long and the low membership fee was easy to commit to. I didn't become a full time committed PBA group rider until almost a year later after having 2 knee surgeries. I found several groups that I love to ride with and I never miss Caffeine Cruise. This club has brought a lot of joy, confidence, new skills, and FRIENDS to my life. I can now take a bike completely apart and rebuild it. I can confidently take out our Novice group and know we will make it back, mechanicals and all! I look forward to the next few years with the club and the Board!
