2011-03-15 | popped on the `pop`sicle | 15.00 | 0.00 | 0 | That`s it!!! Bike`s going in the shop tomorrow. 3 rear flats in 2 weeks means something is wrong! Got as far as Renner but lucky for me there`s a Starbucks on that corner. Then got rescued by a Damsel in an SUV.
2010-08-19 | Derek's annual pop ride | 35.00 | 20.00 | 0 | Steve was in displaying his nefound humility...letting everyone else lead out...Great dinner after. All fun

2010-04-08 | Solo then 28 with OAS | 48.00 | 20.00 | 0 | Glenn and I did a solo 20 then a 28 with OAS hard and fast. First ride since Easter Hil Country...felt 80 percent
2009-09-03 | Thursday OAS | 32.32 | 0.00 | 936 | Dropped back because of a squirrel and then dropped off totally. Rode in with Ed, Patrick, and Alan.
2009-08-27 | Left from House | 28.90 | 0.00 | 0 | Started from the house, did a short ride and made it an easy spin. I was surprised the group kept it as tame as they did, I was determined to keep it easy.
2009-08-25 | Tues OAS | 36.00 | 20.00 | 0 | Garmin was acting up so distance is an estimate. I planned to keep tucked in and did a good job of it until a squirrely rider (strange on this ride) got me out of my comfort zone and out of the draft. Got dropped and rode home with Ed, Alan, and Patrick.
2009-08-02 | Tuesday Night OAS | 31.10 | 0.00 | 0 | Very tired legs from Ragbrai + super hot and humid weather = OTB very early. Painful to say the least! Not a very good way to acclimate myself back to Texas riding.
2009-07-28 | Left from house, caught up with the group | 43.86 | 0.00 | 0 | Seemed like a killer ride tonight, must be losing some fitness. To much stress at work.
2009-07-28 | Tuesday OAS | 50.00 | 19.00 | 0 | Todd and I went from the house down to Exchange into the hoods to find the OAS peeps. Found them in that construction area. Made our way back to Exchange and from there it was warp speed. Somebody ate their wheaties today for sure!! I did great until after the 1st water tower loop. Couldn't hang on the downhill, darn it. Lost the group. Jon Damon, my personal guardian angel, pulled me around for loop 2 and then back to Exchange. He was catching the tail end of the group near the water arena whereupon Todd was waiting for me. We scooted back home at a nice easy pace. So i was really surprised to see a 19 average since we were going so slow home. Turns out from Exchange and the 2 loops the average speed ranged from 22 to 24. That would explain the high puke level for me. Love it!! Tara and Greg came on the ride today and of course Greg is just as strong as a bull and Tara did superb. Almost wish we weren't going on vacation so I can hit the ride again next week.
2009-07-07 | OAS Evening Ride | 34.20 | 19.50 | 0 | Bigger group than the first time I did this ride. Felt really good early on, but started blowing up on the inclines; we had 2 flats; thanks to Steve for waiting when I fell off; then Alan, Kurt, & Marc Mc. waited for us too. I really enjoy the skill and challenge offered by this group, but I think I need a little rest.
2009-06-30 | Tue OAS ride | 47.20 | 0.00 | 0 | Started from home and met the group on Rollins, around the water tower twice and back to the start and home again.
2009-06-30 | Tues OAS | 34.59 | 0.00 | 1,009 | Met Alan and the group near my house and turned off early at the end. Great group and ride today. Took a few longer stints up front. Have to work harder to have a good pull at the front of this group, it will make me stronger.
2009-06-30 | tues oad | 40.00 | 0.00 | 0 | started at casa de rudolph. went toward legacy and indy to meet the pack. headed out to lucas and had some hard efforts. I was touch and go with the group the entire ride.
2009-06-25 | Water tower loop | 45.96 | 0.00 | 0 | Felt tired and could not breath, took it easy tonight and let the group go.
2009-06-16 | Water Tower loop | 49.82 | 0.00 | 0 | Started from the house and met the group as they crossed over to Rollins. Did the loop all they way back to the start and rode home most of the way back with Craig. It was good to see Craig and Kurt and the best part of the ride was my son mowed the lawn for me while I was out riding.
2009-06-16 | Tues OAS +/- | 43.44 | 0.00 | 1,253 | HOT day. My first evening ride in the heat and it kicked my butt. Met the group on the route near my house. Got dropped on Country Club and rode with Alan, Ed, and Kurt until we regrouped at the end of Forest Grove. Felt better after that point and rode back to the start. Then rode and chatted with Glenn until I turned off at Twin Creeks. Need three bottles.
2009-06-04 | Water Tower loop | 38.90 | 0.00 | 0 | Barb and I started from the house and met up with Jay an Jaimie on Rollins, Craig caught us a little later. It wa snot hard, but not easy just a steady push.
2009-06-02 | Std Route | 37.20 | 0.00 | 0 | Late Big Lunch - Fast Group - Out of Shape - OTB - Nuff Said
2009-06-02 | OAS regular loop | 43.80 | 0.00 | 0 | I started from home and caught up with the group on Alma and Suncreek, it was a good ride.
2009-05-28 | OAS Evening Ride | 34.60 | 20.00 | 0 | Fast ride and they don't let up; challenging, but a good ride with a small, skilled group; Jay showed up on his time trial bike...any more questions???
2009-05-26 | Slightly Adjusted Lightning Route | 36.70 | 0.00 | 0 | Good hard ride again tonight. A little early chat and then lay down the hammer. Enjoy riding with these guys!
2009-05-12 | Fast | 35.00 | 20.00 | 0 | As usual....fast. Windy gusts got the heart racing a couple of times. Lots of thoughts about friend George...ride safe everyone.
2009-04-21 | 35.00 | 23.00 | 0 | Fast...so much for steady....
2009-01-08 | The hills | 28.31 | 17.50 | 1,529
2008-07-17 | Water Tower loop | 37.80 | 21.10 | 1,380 | Did the OAS ride for a change of pace, was a good hard ride. There were very few stops and no time to catch your breath.
2008-06-19 | Thursday OAS 6pm | 36.85 | 19.70 | 1,233 | Open roads, small group, strong attacks - reality check real quick. Leave your pride at the car. Have been talking with Todd(L), and he suggested some tweaks to my weekly training routine. I kind of hit a plateau since last week, and my eating and sleeping are off. I am going to force myself to take 1 or 2 true recovery rides a week. The other days are Lock & Load, full metal jacket rounds.
2008-05-29 | Water tower loop from Legacy and Independence | 36.28 | 19.60 | 1,070 | Small group, had plenty of chances to blow up and people would just jump out and we would try and run them down. All the hills were worked hard. Average is deceptive as there was a warm up and warm down from the ride.
2008-05-29 | Thursday OAS | 35.00 | 0.00 | 0 | No, not doing it today either. Got dropped before we could even get to Exchange so the rest of the ride was chasing. Johnny Moore pulled back to get Donnette and then he dragged the two of us around once we got out to the fruit stand. it was Johnny and his harem for the majority of the ride.
2008-05-15 | Thurs OAS | 30.00 | 17.50 | 0 | This is the second time on this ride and again there were five of us, Alan Hunt, Aaron, Todd, me, and Mike Adams. Patrick was with us a short time until he got a flat and had to call someone to help with his fancy tires. Same route as last week and same hellish workout. The memories are coming back of early days of popsicle rides. All I do on this ride is chase. It is not necessarily faster than the pop ride right now but it is harder because it's such a small group. You don't have 30 of your closest friends blocking the wind for you. It's do or die on this ride and I am totally dying. But I am not giving up. I know that sooner or later I will keep up a bit longer and then longer until finally I can keep up the entire ride. That is the goal. So until I reach the goal I will keep chasing the rabbits.
2008-05-08 | Thurs. OAS | 34.00 | 18.50 | 0 | Well we had five riders today so the pace was not as frisky as it normally is. I was definitely not feeling the love today because even cruising at 22-24 I could not keep up. I was really upset about that because I did so well hanging on the pop ride on Tuesday. I will just chalk it up to having an off day. I have to get ready though because I know that when the heavy hitters show up for this ride I will be in trouble!

2008-05-08 | Thurs Pop A | 32.56 | 21.90 | 0
2008-04-10 | Pop/Sam-I-Am ride group A | 50.00 | 19.20 | 1,679 | My son's soccer game was canceled due to overnight rains soaking the fields. So I quickly suited up and jumped on the bike. Riding up to Renner and Custer was a booger with the wind blasting westbound on Collins. At times it was a real struggle just to maintain 13. Made just in time to say hi to Kim before we headed out. On the eastbound section of Collins after crossing 75 it was 35+ until Plano Rd. That was easy with the high winds. Did the north route up to Bethany, Allen Heights and back. It was fast paced the whole time. Rode back to Renner and Custer chatted for a few before heading home. Made it just as it was getting too dark to ride without a headlight. |
