2013-05-16 Fastest Pop of the Year 36.57 21.10 956 well, FnA lived up to his name pulling us for most of the ride. Strong efforts from the usual suspects also, Yimmy, Smernoff, Pecot de Gallo and many others.... I even saw Bran Griffin up front for a short while. How humid was it? So humid that even Scott Alexander was having issues with his hair. Someone needs to teach Brian Williams the concept of the echelon.... if the wind is out of the south which it usually is, then on Renner, go to the left if you get out front so that old fat men like me, don't get guttered.

2013-05-14 EPIC RIDE 35.57 20.70 988 Smart and strong ride for me. I did sit in and I was very thankful that Brent and Joel were here to pull into that ferocious wind out of the south. First ride this year that I stayed with the pack up Crash Hill and even past the green light at Los Rios. Very happy. Beers after the ride with celebrity cyclist, Steve "the guinea" Marino, who came down from Jersey to hang with his peeps.

2013-05-14 Pop 39.97 19.20 1,679 Ride #2: Wow! The layoff showed. This one hurt. I was glad others were doing the work, especially into the wind. I was happy to just be able to suck wheels back in the pack. Thanks.

2013-05-07 34.61 20.80 936 lets just say that I got a few breaks tonight otherwise I'd still be out there. Good performances by Darci, Rusty & Brad Chaney. Thunderous performances by monsters, Smernoff, Standon, Pecot de Gallo and others. And a big thanks to Dave the Pansy for the brewskis after the ride.
Allen Dickason
2013-05-07 34.50 0.00 0 got to ride with Pop B for most of the ride, until I got dropped on Dublin. George, thanks for asking if I was on the ride tonight. I'll be there one of these days

2013-05-07 Pop-B Goes the Commute 50.20 18.90 0 Gave another go at the work commute today, and jumped on the Pop-B ride on Collins after work. Had a nice brisk (uneventful) ride and spotted many familiar faces. Had to bailed on Alma near the end to head home as the sun was setting. I had the company of David, new found Pop friend, for the trip up Alma and part of the way home on the Chisholm Trail. This could become a regular ride once the new job settles down.

2013-05-07 Pop B 34.10 20.50 0 New fastest ride mark for me, felt good tonight after working from home today. Still not quite fast enough to hang with the big dogs up front, but trying to work my way there. Had a very short pull at the front after Holford, and a good run up Firehouse hill. Other than that was mid-pack or further back. Good rides by Darrin and Darci, and as always thanks Batman!

2013-05-07 Pop B with pre-ride and flat 35.45 18.50 0 I did the pre-ride with Eric, John, and Jimmy for the first time. I flatted on Collins during the actual ride and told them to go on without me. I couldn't find any reason for the flat so that had me worried, but it held air throughout the rest of the ride. I rode Dublin backwards until meeting B just north of Parker and then rode back with them all.

2013-04-30 POP Goes the Commute 40.24 17.00 0 I decided to make a commute to the new job, and noticed that the Pop ride traveled Collins just south of the office. I decided to jump on the Pop ride for the trip home. I reached Collins just as Pop-A cruised past, followed shortly by Pop-B. I waited on the Pop-C group since I had not ridden with this crew before and didn't know the route, although I had the route map in my pocket. I knew the route would take me north toward home where I could either jump off, or circle south for some additional miles. That decision would come depending on the ride and available daylight. I had heard the Pop rides could be eventful, but what happened next was not the event I expected. Less than eight miles into my ride, our small group out front heard the horrible sounds from behind and the cries of riders down. The roadside service was lengthy as PFD took care of the injured. The ride was shortened and the group headed back to the finish. I turned off before the end to escape the roads and get to the green-way trails to head home since it was dark, and I had no lights. Best wishes to those that caught in the scrum.

2013-04-30 POP-ish 20.00 0.00 0 My first Pop-ish ride this season. Not a good night. Four of us came upon the Pop C crash on Los Rios. So sorry to hear of injuries to Darrell, Curtis, and Roberto. We turned around at Park to accommodate the lack of light.

2013-04-30 Tues Pop B 31.79 18.80 0 I didn't expect to do as good as I did tonight. I still cut out at the turn toward Jupiter and took the Allen Heights. I assisted some Pop A stragglers along Dublin, let them go at FM544 and then caught them again along Renner before US75.

2013-04-25 OAS Thurs 35.76 18.50 0 I let the group go after getting north of Parker Rd. I just couldn't sustain the higher paces. I hope its due to the vaccine shots last week and I'll get better soon. Another round of vaccine shots in two weeks, so I may have rough patches for another month or so. No problem finishing the distance, just at a slower pace.
George Markus
2013-04-25 35.20 20.70 928 Excellent ride by Vince Button who did more than his share of pulling into the wind. Great jobs up front by Pecot de Gallo & the Russian. Good effort from Brad & Larry, DB regulars. No issues, Praise God.
Brad Chaney
2013-04-25 Pop B 34.40 20.20 0 Got to the lot early after picking up Muenster packet at RBM. A went out early, so B had a good sized group. Somehow we still caught A at the light on Campbell, and combined group rode until we held up at Holford. Good ride tonight, and thanks to those who pulled. Hope to be able to help out at the front in the coming weeks. Great job to Larry J. for finishing his first Pop B with the main group! Thanks for a good ride Batman.

2013-04-25 Pop-B 41.41 21.30 0 Warm up lap with Yimmy and McGiver. Huge group of Pop-A left before us, leaving Pop-B a nice manageable size. Lots of fun, monster pulls by Vince tonight, and Robert spent his fair share of time at the front. Good ride by The General.

2013-04-17 pop + commute 51.67 21.00 0 Soloed after the A group decided to go short as opposed to everyone else going the full amount. From what I hear, nearly caught them on Renner. Thanks, George!

2013-04-16 Pop B with wind and humidity 28.00 0.00 0 Not my best ride, I seem to ride my best when I am on the Colnago. Too many years on the same bike I guess. After a good pull on Allen heights I was dropped at the start of Dublin but Sam Montag came to the rescue and motor paced me back to the group at the 4 way stop. Thanks Sam!
George Markus
2013-04-16 36.51 20.20 936 good group to ride with tonight. Sam came out in his SUV to police our single file on Dublin. Great pulls from Yimmy, BB, Minnesota Dave, Benjamin Button, Nate the p*ssy and many others. I do want to mention that Kitty Puss Darci had her best ride ever..... she is ready for the dark side.
Brian Bedingfield
2013-04-16 Pop B 49.09 19.60 1,060 Thanks to my PBA buddies for the smooth, well mannered ride. Always glad to see that some good things never change. Great pulls by El Jefe! Thanks, Batman, Yimmy, Vince, Nathan, and everyone else!

2013-04-16 Tuesday Pop. To crosstrain or not to crosstrain. 34.50 19.70 0 Pros of yoga, running and gym - good cardio, power and recovery tonight. Cons of (natural) running - calf cramps on the hill surges two weeks in a row!?
