With Wednesday night activities back on for the kids, I'm back to riding Celebration for the next few weeks. Smaller group than normal, with only 5 riders total, and all generally faster than me. Held on well to the park, fell OTB on the 1st lap, and rested at the park during lap 2. Good effort and well time lights allowed me to generally stay with the group on the way back. Thanks David and Vincent for the good ride.

Thanks for showing up for warm-up, BB. Last 4 lap night this year. Had new cables on without checking myself - didn't think I needed to learn that lesson again-d'oh. Nutrition off last night from being in a bad mood - really dumb of me. Trying Aeolus 5 wheels out in rough wind - perhaps these are not the wheels for me. Thanks for pulling my butt home, boys. "I don't feel like doing 4 loops"... So, I guess I didn't do 4 loops. Steve wins the award for most loops ever on a Celebration ride... that I know of. Great help from John on the way out! Great pulls by David, Dave, Jean, and Steve. Rotating pacelines were smooth. Great sprints by Kayla. Good to see a future champion develop under the instruction of one of the best. Easily, the best and hardest Celebration ride, ever! Thank you everyone!

Upon arriving at the parking lot I noticed that I had a flat in the front tire. Turns out the area around the valve stem had degraded/cracked so I had to replace the front tube. Much better than the back and it was my quickest change yet... maybe only three minutes. Good ride and almost able to keep up with the big dogs. Regrouped at Celebration and went back in a six pack of riders as the other group did a third lap. Thanks for the pulls Derek and Vince. (and other big guy whose name I never got). Matt from Fast Tweeners availed him self well. He needs to go to DB Lite at least because I am sure he averaged over 18 as well. The wind played nice and we scooted along exchange at a good clip and even down twin creeks it wasn't too bad. Finished with a decent average.

Missed Pop yesterday, so I rode from home and met the ride at Celebration Park to ride the loops. First loop, Appleby served me a double deep dish of pain. The only thing that kept me going was thinking of additional nicknames for him. This being a public forum, my long nickname initials for him are now F.A.O.A.F.A., still F.A. for short. Limped home after the third loop.

Glad David and Heather showed. Called the ride at the start, but we rode anyway. The weather seemed to have more bark than bite. Had a few sprinkles on the way out, but tire grip was good for the whole ride. Had a little heavier rain on lap 1. Heard the park got pummeled. Thanks for the ride and the pulls, FA! Decided to try a cedence test on Bethany. Hit 30 @ 175 RPM on the 53/25. ..interesting.

Rocking Ride tonight with great pulls by Vince and Steve. We had a good run up exchange with us not dropping below 20 except for the light at HWY 5. We topped exchange over the highway at around 22-23 and we hit top of hill at Alma going 20 (having cruised at 28 for some period). Good small group tonight. We did one lap. Fast group tonight. A little slower out with SE wind partially in face.

At one point Brian asked Steve how he was feeling - "annoyed by the wind". Steve never fails to astonish with how strong he is. Good ride everybody!

Rode out together to Celeberation with A group. Tried to hange with the fast guys at least for one lap. Did fine till we hit a sustained 24ish and then HR started to spike up to 180. Couldn't hang anymore. Lot them at the light at CC and Stacy. Didn't realize we just needed to cross the road and it would curve into prescott. Finished the lap and then regrouped for pacelining back down exchange. Finished up pretty smooth as a group and had a little sprint down Indy which Derek "migraine yeah right" Nugent blew doors off of. Hope you are feeling better Derek. This is last ride for me before Wild Ride Saturday. Just cannot ride tomorrow.
