2013-05-12 McKinney with a twist 43.02 20.00 0 Great route this morning, thanks Alan. Good thing Razor wasn't with us, he would have ended up on 121 or 75 or both! Legs very tired from yesterdays efforts. Very enjoyable morning.

2013-04-28 Epic Ride 43.46 20.00 1,112 We usually don't have Epic rides if Matt Baker comes along but today was the exception. Great group of about 16, including Chris Zeppa up from DB1 who had a stellar ride spending most of his time in the paceline. Some spirited sprints, great group of cycling friends, smooth pace lines and hills.... yes, I just love hills, made for an epic ride. We ran into several friends riding with STCC going in multiple groups. Joel Hoback was looking very svelte for the old man that he is. Interesting babble at the coffee shop after the ride, which included the cripple, FnA. I do want to add the Alan Hasty picked an excellent route with new roads, at least for me.

2013-03-23 OAS CC loop through Mckinney - OTB 50.26 18.70 0 This is the story of the lost phone and the lost cyclist... Rode with Alan at 2:00 due to rain cancelling morning rides. Small group of 6 and all was going fine until I started feeling not so great at mile 30 or so. We took a break in McKinney and the rain returned. Still not feeling great, cold and wet now, being dropped, and passed a cell phone on the ground and thought "If that were my phone I'd want someone...". SO, I tell 'em I'll catch up, turned around to retrieve the phone, started up again, missed a turn, and lost contact with group. Miles later we find each other again... I don't think the OASers were very happy as they were very cold and wet from having searched for me. Fortunately, Alan, Dick, and Ed stuck with me and sheltered me all the way to the barn. Upon arrival, Alan advised that retrieving phones and getting lost is best on nice sunny days and not on cold rainy ones (I think that might be a South African proverb or something). Good news though Alan, Sprint was able to reunite said phone with its lost owner! My apologies again to you boys for keeping you out in that miserable crud any longer than you had to be.

2013-03-17 Allen's Hill Training Ride 52.90 18.90 1,536 Had fun with friends. Hills were a challenge but I enjoyed my times. Allen leads a good ride. FnA out front for most of the ride... imagine that. Newbie, up from DB1, Chris Zeppa, also known as Mazeppapappazoides, had a fabulous ride. Great job Chris. Maybe we can win him over to the dark side now that he knows we're not 'jerks' as he was advised by others.

2013-03-10 OAS off the front to Pilot Point 76.75 0.00 0 After sitting up front for a while, BB and I decided to leave the group for good out in the country north of 380. Got to Preston too far south and went back east to go north to cross preston and head to the Celina north rest stop. Neither of us needed it and I suggested we head another dozen or more miles straight into the wind to pilot point - BB was down, so off we went. Pilot point sure is quiet and so was the Texaco rest stop. Finished the park loop with a small added detour and flew mostly there and down the tollway, spent legacy in the drops out of the saddle at 35+ emptying the tank. BB can be beaten up a little when he hasn't had his mileage wheaties - ;). Thanks, BB.

2013-03-10 Eric and Jimmy's WINDY OAS 46.88 18.30 0 WOW, that is the worst wind in two or three years. Headed north with 8. A little mud mis-hap in a cleat, and we lost FnA and BB off the front. The six of us, Deb, Dick, Nick, Jimmy and Marty slogged on to Celina. Heading south was a little better for sure, but still a little cross wind. Glad that is over!
