2013-05-18 oas lite 69.04 0.00 0 Some nice runs with the boyz after the group thinned out. If you're starting to drift through a curve, stay on the gas! Thanks, Russian and Yimmy!

2013-05-18 OAS Lite 63.50 0.00 0 The group was too big due to other groups joining lite. There were people in the way that should not have been on the ride. It is time for Fast 40 to do their own thing so the groups can get through the lights. Once the Fast 40 turned, Lite had no more problems with lights.

2013-05-11 Celina-Weston-Home 61.44 20.90 0 Epic ride today. Got lucky with help from Team Crest heading north. Numerous great runs across the rollers, and then the long stretch south of Weston. Great route today Batman, thanks. Now, well wishes to three fellow BPAers today who are in the hospital, Maynard, and Tony and Anne M. Heal well and soon.

2013-05-11 EPIC RIDE 68.91 20.20 1,799 What a day. Beautiful cloudless skies, a nice little 15 to 20 mph north wind and a spunky over sized group headed out with Greg "the pansy" Thurmond and his FAST FORTY guys to Celina and parts beyond. CREST racing team with many of our old friends joined us at 380 and passed us just around 1461. But they don't paceline.... our well oiled machine caught them and they pulled us to 134 where we pulled over to let Jimmy with the giant bladder relieve himself. On the 134 rollers the party was lit up.... wow! It's a shame that I fell OTB. Luckily they're my boys and they waited in Weston where we ran into..... yep, you guessed it CREST with Ron Lillis, Bill Anderson, Matt Brady and others. On 543 heading south with the wind at our backs CREST passed us but not for long. Damon, Button, the Project, the Russian, the quarter Jew took off the front and we were all climaxing as we were cruising south for many miles at 35 to 40 mph. Unfortunately, Ron and 3 others came with us as the rest of the CREST team turned at 125. Construction at 75 changed the route a bit but we were all slap happy and basking in the glow of good bicycle sex at the rest stop which just happened to be at the 48 miles mark. Unfortunate events with 4 PBA members crashing clouded the afternoon. We wish all of our fallen brethren a speedy recovery. One more very important note.... yes, we had a chick with us the whole way. Shelby, thanks for validating our little group.

2013-04-27 Celina to Aubrey & Little Elm then home 66.09 20.20 0 Got dropped leaving the parking lot, many thanks to Deb for staying with me. We slogged our way north to Celina and met up with the group. Only to have the group get dropped off the front when they missed a turn south.... Just when we thought the bad karma was done for the day, Batman sliced his tire on 380, so bad; he had to call for a sag.

2013-04-27 73.00 19.30 1,450 Well, this day did not turn out as I planned. Strong north wind and a large group with some very big dawgs made for an interesting day. We headed north with strong pulls from Evans, Wolf, Stanton, FIAT and others and somewhere just south of Rockhill, we stopped to regroup and realized that several were OTB and the Russian and the wench (Deb Matz) were no where to be seen. After much discussion we realized that they never left the parking lot.... speculation abounds but I won't go there. The group stayed together semi well with a very fast average north bound to Celina and then west on 428 where we ran into Deb & Eric. At this point I was just hanging on but managed to continue to stay with the group. After we passed my wife's barn, the horses took off and missed the turn on 2931. We tried to get their attention but to no avail. So, off we went after a brief wait and then on 380 at 47 miles with a 19.8 avg, "boom" the troll under the 380 bridge, slashed my tire in half. I sent my friends home and waited for over an hour for my wife to come by with my vehicle. I was frozen and hungry but I survived and insisted on getting back in the saddle. She toted me up to her barn assuring me the entire way that I was stoopid if I rode home and indeed I am, as we all know, and after replacing all the damaged parts I took off solo. Luckily the wind was at my back and I got back to the lot in one piece happy to have gotten the extra miles. Overall, a great day in the saddle is hard to beat.

Amazing day overall with such great weather, great friends and we had a chick. Yes we did, OAS LITE had a chick! and boy was she strong. April, you are welcome to ride with us anytime. Let me just say that I feel truly blessed to have such a great group to ride with. I love you man!

2013-04-06 recovery oaslite 71.11 0.00 0 Sore still this morning, but figured I'd roll out and peel off. Didn't have any issues until maybe 12 miles fro. The barn some time twinges in the joint when under load, so spun my way home with help from Jimmy and George. Pushed a little more late on renner and Indy and didn't have soreness, so came in with lead group. Nice to ride with PBA peeps two weekends in a row. Thanks, George!

2013-04-06 East of Rowlett 65.54 19.70 0 This was our day for punishment in the crosswind. Love this route, just not with a 20+ southernly wind. Big thank to Bill on one section of ? heading into Rowlett from the east.

2013-03-30 Combined Ride 64.62 20.40 1,411 Great day with a strong south wind so we headed up Spring Creek to 121 and parts beyond. The ride was prefaced by the 2 lawyers falling on some slick streets before they even made it into the parking lot and unfortunately the ride leader (FRL) fell in the lot trying to yell at his maggots and an oncoming Mustang at the same time. The start of the ride was brisk, with Steve Sterling and others up front. This did not bode well for my RRP and we lost several OTB in spite of multiple regroups during the early ride. The group had pace line issues for the first few miles with the combined groups but we settled down and had one of the finest and fastest pace lines especially into the wind heading around the airport. Our average at IH 35 at the 15 mile mark was a blazing fast (for me) 22 mph. When we turned at MacArthur we regrouped and headed south and around the airport heading into the wind at speeds in excess of our usual. Thomas, who rides this route regularly, but we can't really expect much from a 29 yo, was up front for the sprint around the airport and managed to go straight and miss the turn at Walnut Hill and all of the non OAS LITE regulars went with him. This is where we needed Eric and Jimmy. Unfortunately, they were off galavanting in the Hill country. Rest stop at 40 miles with a 20.8 avg and a very happy group. The ride home was careful and steady, much more social and everyone, I think, had a good time. We did have at least 2 flats that I'm aware of. Good to have Nancy & Kayla on the ride. Without a doubt, this ride set a new record for complaining and whining from our favorite 59 year old, Mr Andrea. So good to have you back. Thanks to Craig Kasperski for his help coordinating the pace line

2013-03-30 Down before the start. 68.93 20.40 0 A troubled start. Slipped and went down on a turn before I got to SC&C and kissed the curb. It turns out Bill Kleinman went down on the same spot 5 minutes earlier. George forgot to unclip and fell coming out of the parking lot. Three down before the first mile! Luckily, we all stayed upright for the ride on one the nicest Saturdays in a while. A combination with OAS made for a fast group. My first fall in a while resulted in sore muscles and road rash, including a nice scrape on my cheek. My left wrist took the brunt of the fall though and I fear it may be cracked. Still, I am glad I did the ride. Many thanks to those concerned and helpful. Kudos to George who gave me a sub-6 minute, Obamacare compliant, checkup in the parking lot.

2013-03-23 Late start 50.00 18.30 1,093 11 AM start and we had 7 cyclists all of high caliber. slow first 1/3 of the ride due to the rain and then we let Brent the Sasquatch pull us north to the McKinney airport. Thanks to Brian, Jimmy, Thomas, Robert & Dave for a great ride in inclement weather.

2013-03-16 Usual Sunnyvale 61.58 20.00 0 Great little rout despite the strong southernly wind. RRR went down a little bit today, but there is always a positive correlation between increasing wind speed and low RRR. Thanks General.
