Weather Forecast for Saturday AM is not too bad for late August with temps mid 70s to 90 (to low 90s with the heat index), wind very light northerly 2 - 5 mph with very little cloud cover. There is high humidity predicted, so please hydrate well on Thursday and Friday to be ready for the heat. There's a very low chance of rain. Please remember helmet, plenty of water and electrolytes, flat repair kit and check your bike chain and gearing for any needed adjustments and air up your tires just prior to forming up for the safety briefing which is at 6:45 AM at Gulledge Elementary (next to the south bound side of Preston Meadow just south of Legacy). The days are getting shorter, with Saturday's sun rise at 6:55 AM, but there's still plenty of light with Civil Twilight starting at 6:29 AM on Saturday. With low angle sun, though, it's always a good idea to have your lights on. Please be on time and we will start at 7:00 AM.
We'll take the "SU 33 Ridgeview 4 Cities" route (link/web address for the route is below). It's 33 miles with a rest stop at 17.8 miles and a second "quick stop" at 28.2 miles. Step-Up always tries for a rolling average pace of 13 to 14.5 mph over the route distance. This is a developmental No Drop ride.
