Saturday Step-Up

Step-Up Ride for Dec 20th, 8:00 AM Start

As of Thursday AM, weather for Saturday, Dec 20 looks OK --- predicted temps are great for late Dec, but winds will be the issue -- 14 mph sustained SW with gusts to 24 mph. If there actually is frequent gusting above 25 mph as now indicated as possible in the NOAA forecast, that by itself might lead to canceling the ride.

So, if conditions early Saturday look "iffy" check this space, the PBA Facebook page and the calendar area of the PBA website for any update which I'll post by 6:20 AM. If you don't see any update then we're a go for an 8:00 AM start (or at least a parking lot decision). Also look for any announcement from the PBA Ride Coordinator, Richard Bohansky. His decision to cancel developmental rides on Saturday, of which Step-Up is one, would supersede whatever I might be planning to do. The Calendar page on the PBA website will also annotate the Step-Up ride as Cancelled if the ride does get cancelled.

The ride will start from the Gulledge Elementary Parking Lot.  Remember helmet, gloves, water and flat repair kit. Please check air, brakes, and chain prior to riding. Please be ready to go at 7:45 AM at the start area for attendance taking and the normal ride safety briefing so we can start on time at 8:00 AM.  Step-Up is a no-drop ride that tries for a rolling average of 13 to 14.5 mph average over the 32+ mile distance of the ride.
