Sunday Adventure - 9AM

Easter!!!

The weather looks great -- sunny skies -- a bit of a North wind -- but nice temperatures.

Rides were cancelled today -- so we may have an increased desire for spicy paces on Sunday. Please remember, this is not a particularly spicy ride. Whatever your level, the Sunday Adventure should feel social and fun for you. If you are looking for something serious -- choose something else.

Right now the ride is full -- please watch for more spots to open. Lots of folks will cancel throughout the day -- or choose to ride a different ride. Please register if there are open spots -- if not, as long as you are a PBA member, we will find a spot for you Sunday morning. This ride is for members only.

Because the ride team hates me -- they voted on the route with the most elevation. We will ride into Panther Creek going both directions. So while the ride should feel social -- there will be some challenges. Sorry, not sorry.

Sunday is Easter, the route tried to avoid big churches so that we will hopefully not get stuck in Church traffic. It is possible the timing may be off on Independence -- if that happens, we will just be careful.

Feel free to celebrate by putting bunny ears on your helmets or wearing tutus! Sunday is Easter -- spring is here!

Route:

~33ish miles. The rest stop is at ~20 miles.

AR 33 Easter3

Please watch for weather updates -- the wind conditions are forecasted right at the borderline of safe group riding winds.

If sustained winds are over 20mph -- we will cancel the ride.

The route this week is 32ish miles with a rest stop around mile 22.

We take turns at the front -- if you are pulling and are not steady -- YOU NEED TO COME OFF THE FRONT! Last week we had a rider that needed to come off the front, and when the person behind him thought he was falling back and came up to take her turn -- he decided to race her. That is NOT proper group riding etiquette.

IF YOU ARE NEW TO GROUP RIDING -- PLEASE ROLL WITH THE LAST GROUP. It is much easier to learn group riding skills and practices at a slower pace. Build a good foundation, before moving up to faster groups.

Group 1 -- (17-18 recovery pace) Do not ride with group 1 if you do not know how to rotate in a group.

If you want a hard ride, and want to push faster than the group -- I suggest signing up for Bikes and Bagels.

Group 2 -- (16-17 recovery pace). Group 2 is also expected to rotate, but if you need tips and pointers, you will be coached on the proper way to make this happen.

Group 3 -- (15-16 recovery pace) Group 3 will also practice rotating.

Group 4 (14-16 -- or to the slowest rider.)

Please arrive 15 minutes before the ride starts for check-in, safety speeches, etc.

Registration is required.
