Group Riding Skills (GRS)

Want to be more confident riding in groups? Want to ride more safely in groups? Want to help others ride better in groups? Then take this Group Riding Skills clinic and you will learn to dodge obstacles, ride in close proximity to other riders, make emergency stops, and communicate with other riders. There is no pre-work to do as part of this clinic. The clinic has a short classroom portion, but the majority of your time will be spent learning and practicing riding skills. A short group ride will follow to hone your new skills. This is a fun, practical, and informative clinic.

Traffic Skills 101 (TS101)

Traffic Skills 101 (TS101) is a fast-paced class that will give you the confidence to ride safely and legally in traffic or on the trail. You will learn how to conduct bicycle safety checks, fix a flat, on-bike skills and crash avoidance techniques. We recommended this class for adults and children above age thirteen. The classroom portion is completed online at www.bikeed.org prior to the class. You should expect to spend 1.5 – 2 hours doing this. The skills and riding portion will take 2.5 – 4 hours.

Ride Leader/Sweeper Training (RLT)

While all our members are our VIPs, there is no one more integral to our association than our Ride Leaders. Without them, we have no rides. Ask yourself the following:

  • Are you a natural born leader?
  • Do you like to tell people what to do?
  • Do you want to become an integral part of the PBA?

We are always looking for Ride Leaders to lead our weekday and weekend rides, and we could use your help! Take the first step towards being a PBA Ride Leader by attending this informative class.  You will learn leadership skills along with how to lead groups large and small, how to manage an accident scene, and how to get everyone home safely.
