Step-Up Ride for July 8th, 7 AM Start

7 months 2 weeks ago #25189

At this writing (Friday, 7:30 AM, July 7th) the weather forecast for the riding area on Saturday morning, July 8th is good -- The Weather Channel has it as only a 5% chance of rain with light winds. Should rain develop overnight into Saturday morning, check this space for a cancellation notice at 5:45 AM Saturday. If you don't see a cancellation notice by 5:45 AM, then I'm planning to be at the start area and we'll call a go/no-go from there.

If we're a go, please meet at the start area in the parking lot of the Stonewood Professional Office Park just to the west of the shopping center at the northwest corner of Coit and Spring Creek at 6:45 AM for the pre-ride briefing ready to go so we can ride off at 7:00 AM. Please remember water, helmet, tire repair kit, and air-up your tires and check your bike before the pre-ride briefing. We'll plan to do the normal Step-Up 33.5 mile route at an average of about 13 MPH. Avg speeds for the last couple months of Step-Up rides have been between 13.1 and 13.7 mph.

Also note -- The ride leaders that have rotated leading Step-Up for the last year or so are both supporting the Collin Classic Bike Rally on July 22nd and so as of now there is no Step-Up Ride scheduled for that day. Please consider riding the Collin Classic ( www.bgccc.org ) supporting the Boys and Girls Clubs of Collin County.
