Appleby was the voice of reason? Greg, that should have been a sign.

We had an ad-hoc ride this morning and called it the Frosty Forty. 10 riders in all; some from DB1, some from Fast Forty and some from OAS Lite. Appleby stopped by to see us off but he was in street clothes and no bike - no really it is true. He didnt expect to see anyone riding. David you missed a good ride afterall.

Strong North winds worked us over with a headwind going out but the wind also helped dry the roads out before we hit Rock Hill/Virginia. We rode west on Rock Hill, North on Coit, East on Prosper Trail and made our way back to Lake Forest, Virginia, Indy, WestPark and South on Coit. The cross winds were manageable and the tailwind home was terrific! Fun ride with a good work out and no rain.

Who knew.

Forecast calling for mid 30s at the start with the windchill and winds out of the North at 15 to 18mph. 30% chance of rain. I will check the radar before we depart. Brian and the DB1 group will be riding our route tomorrow so we should have some extra horsepower for the outbound leg to help with the headwind.

Dress warm; wool socks, booties, tights, base layer, jersey and jacket, mask/cap, winter gloves.

We will be pacelining on our outbound leg. Keeping the pace steady and the group together is key so we can all enjoy a major tailwind on the way home!

See you at 7:45am for an 8am departure, we should be back at the barn
by 10:30/10:45am at the latest. This is our last Fast Forty for 2014, lets make it a good one.

If you need warm gloves (XL) or tights (Large) for the ride tomorrow post here. I will bring a few extras along to the ride start.
