Sunday Destination / Breakfast Ride - June 26th

I've made a few minor changes to the route. Please refer to the original post for the link. Expect some "interesting" road conditions in a few areas and a few areas of riding in traffic.
Please come with a sense of adventure and discovery...and hunger!

Oh BOY!!!! This is my favorite restaurant.... never been there for breakfast though. I wonder if they serve their lunch/dinner menu at breakfast. Definitely going to have to see about attending this one!

Hello Breakfast Ride Fans:

The Sunday Destination / Breakfast Ride has returned from vacation and will ride once again - Sunday, June 26th (7:30 departure!)

South of the Border Edition

Herrera’s Café – West Dallas

Amigos, sorry for the short notice but it’s time to get things going again with a bit of adventure on our next Sunday Destination / Breakfast Ride. Breakfast fans will ride south of the Plano border to Dallas. The ride will test new routes west then south past the Trinity River to our destination - Herrera’s Café on Sylvan. Please come with a sense of adventure and discovery as we blaze new paths to West Dallas / Oak Cliff.

Please remember to bring a lightweight cable and lock to secure your bike. Herrera’s has an outdoor patio which I hope to use for our group.

When: Sunday, June 26th, 7:30 am – Note earlier departure time due to heat! Es muy caliente afuera...

Where: We'll start and end at the parking lot between Richardson Bike Mart and Starbucks – Coit and Campbell

Distance: 46 miles, 1,080ft.

Speed: Usually around 14mph average – a bit faster on the first leg but usually slower on the return leg. No Drop. Please choose the ride carefully if unsure of your ability. If we have a large group, we will split into two squads.

Due to the weather (and breakfast coffee) we will stop on the return leg for a break and hydration.

Please arrive at least 15+ minutes early. This is a PBA ride so we will need time to register, go over the safety briefing, and call the restaurant.

About the ride:
The Sunday Destination / Breakfast Ride combines a ride to local destinations or points of interest not on a typical PBA route, and a stop at a breakfast restaurant along the way. The rides are “no drop” and the plan is to keep the distances between 30 to 45 miles and the average speed between 13 and 15 miles per hour. For this ride the journey is as important as the destination and I hope we can enjoy a casual ride with a variety of locations, neighborhoods, restaurants, scenery, topography, and camaraderie. A sense of adventure is important as we will discover routes together. While I will research routes in advance, do expect a wrong turn or three. I look forward to your feedback after each ride to improve the routes. Depending on the destination, the starting location might be someplace other than the Coit and Spring Creek / PBA parking lot so please note the starting location for each ride.
