I would like to welcome all PBA cyclists and guests to the official Plano Bicycle Association web site.
Please take some time to browse around the site to learn more about the club's many weekly ride offerings and opportunities to get plugged into one of the fastest growing bike clubs in Texas.
Club membership offers many benefits including full website access for online ride logging and participation in a very active forum community.
Still have questions about the club? Feel free to send me an email and we will be back in touch with you shortly.
With nearly 600 members and over 20 weekly rides throughout the year, we have something for almost every bicycle rider. New to group cycling? Then the PBA is the perfect place to start.

Cayla Reese (3rd from left) and Maggie Johns (5th from left) sweet-talked (imagine that!) Warren Casteel (2nd from left) into leading an impromptu ride to downtown Dallas on Sunday June 21. It was a hot day and this photo shows part of the group standing "in" the fountain at Victory Plaza. This was low-keyed, fun ride that everyone enjoyed.
This month's newsletter includes photos from the Memorial Day ride and picnic, an article by Sharon Dickson on a criterium skills and bike handling clinic she attended, and part three of our stories to motivate. Click here to download the June 2009 newsletter 958.53 Kb
PBA members Renee Jordan, Mike Emmons, Warren Casteel, Steve Sterling, along with Rick Gurney of Plano Cycling and Fitness are seen in this Plano Television Network video clip shot on May 15th, National Bike-to-Work Day. Be patient, it may take a few seconds for the video to load after you click on the image.
Gabe Cardona, Grant Edwards, Mike Emmons, Warren Casteel, Marc Mumby, and Steve Sterling (not shown) celebrated National Bike-to-Work Day by... well, riding to work! Here we are on the way home on the "secret" route under Central Expressway. More information to come in next month's newsletter, and you can read more on the forum thread.
On my road trip to California the other day, I was out biking with Bob Rountree in Colorado. We stopped in Westcliff, CO for a quick break and in came Nick and Tyler all loaded down with gear. We chatted about what they were doing. For short, they were biking by themselves, fully self contained with just a map and a goal to ride to California staying at hostels and campgounds, they crank out the miles day in and day out.
July 19th (1:-4:00) Invite all your friends and fellow cyclists as we pack this venue for our PBA sponsored event. The PBA is stepping out of the box as a club on this one and we need your support. Please help spread the word to all around the DFW Metroplex. Thanks for your support!
